Daddy took Dana on boat trip down the James today... they enjoyed seeing turtles, geese, and herons, and had a picnic lunch!

Farewell to Summer

Grandma and Grandpa invited us to join them in Emerald Isle for the weekend, so we decided to take them up on it... and enjoy the last official day of summer at the beach! It was the "50th Birthday" of Emerald Isle, so they had a little street fair... Dana and Chase rode the swing-- it was really fast, but she was DETERMINED (wonder where she gets that...) to ride it! She was putting her hands up and shouting "BONZAI!", so I got over my over-protective mom feelings pretty quick. When she got off, Dana said "Let's do that AGAIN!"

Pedal Power!

She's had that trike for almost a year, and she is just finally using the pedals! Gross motor skills are not our strength!

Barbie as the Island Princess

Auntie Erinn and I took Dana to a "Sneak Peek" of "Barbie as the Island Princess" today-- it was a free sneak peek, she got to "meet" Barbie (who she has recently discovered, and is slightly obsessed with!) and she even won a prize in the raffle (she must have her Mama's luck!) Dana got a little shy, when she met Barbie, but didn't stop talking about it all day!

Goodbye Summer!

We went to Bruster's for an end-of-summer ice cream treat-- this is becoming a Kaufman family tradition-- see last year's pictures below! Wow, doesn't Dana look so much older?
