Tickly, sticky giraffe tongues

Dana and I took advantage of a "nice day" (not too cold...), and went to the Richmond Zoo... when we got to the giraffes there was no one around, then as we started feeding them it got really crowded. I snapped this last picture just in time-- but I didn't get the "post" face-- it was a combination smile and "ew!" face...

A Festival of Lights...

We had planned to go to the Lewis Ginter Garden Fest of Lights the day after Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa, but it rained, so we went the next night. Sadly, my camera battery died, so I didn't get to take too many pictures, but we had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful lights.

Over the River and Through the Woods...

Grandma and Grandpa outdid themselves this year! A huge lunch, tons of Christmas cookies, more Little Shop guys, Baby dolls and clothes, Barbies, and a HUGE dollhouse! Plus, there were lots of surprises from Uncle Bobby and Aunt Barbara, Cousin Caleb and Luke, Mindy and Sherry, and the Bunches! What a day!

Christmas Morning...

What a morning! Dana woke up and asked if Santa had come... we checked the plate of cookies and milk and chocolate, carrots and water (for the reindeer), woke Auntie up, and opened present after present! Dora toys, Littlest Pet Shop, a new kitchen... Santa, Momma and Daddy, and Auntie spoiled Dana. We were so busy video-taping that we forgot to take pictures!

Eating some chocolate and helping Auntie with her presents...
checking out the new kitchen that Santa left...

playing Hungry, Hungry, Hippos with Daddy...

HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS!

We let Dana choose one present to open on Christmas Eve... she chose the gift from Gramps and Sherry--it was Hungry, Hungry Hippos! She was SOOOOOOOOO excited!

Bakin' Cookies for Santa!

A little taste-test...

We made cookies for Santa today, using Grandma Dana's famous recipe... Dana wanted to use the special "princess" cookie cutters that cousin Leah gave her for her birthday. "Santa will love them!" she said.

The Gingerbread House

This year Dana and Chase made a Willy Wonka gingerbread house (thanks to Gramps and Sherry!).

The Big Guy in Red!

Dana was feeling better today (after a rough battle with a stomach bug), so we took her to see Santa. She went right to him, told him that she wants Hungry, Hungry Hippos, Little Shop Guys, and a doll house. And look, no tears this year!

Santa's Picture Perfect Christmas

Dana and Auntie went to see "Santa's Picture Perfect Christmas" with the preschool on Wednesday. Dana got to watch the play, eat lunch, and visit with Santa and his friends from the play. Doesn't it look like she's telling Santa a secret?

Camp In!

Dana has had a rough few days... she has pneumonia, and has been stuck in the house, and is definitely getting cabin fever! Daddy brought her a special surprise today-- a "princess tent" (yes, of course it is PINK!) to cheer her up.

Deck the Halls!

Dana has mini Christmas tree for her bedroom, and she decided to decorate it with her Littlest Pet Shop (or as she calls them, "Little Shop") pets. When she realized that she wouldn't be able to play with them she decided to re-decorate her tree with her own special ornaments.

3 Year and Christmas Pictures

On Wednesday we took Dana to Portrait Innovations to do her 3-year and Christmas pictures. We took over 100 pictures! These were some of the best... see the "out-takes" below.
